Board of Advisors
Marianna Schaffer has over 10 years of progressive experience in the philanthropic sector. In her current position as the Philanthropy Program Officer at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation she manages several programs including Artist As Activist and SEED, which provide catalytic funding for individual artists and small arts organizations. Prior to working at Rauschenberg, Ms. Schaffer served as the Director of Programs at the David Rockefeller Fund, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fund as well as grantmaking in the Arts, Criminal Justice, and Environment program areas.
Ms. Schaffer served as a Program Coordinator with the University of Denver’s Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, where she developed service learning education courses with university faculty and supervised three large-scale after-school education programs.
Marianna holds an MA in International Education from New York University, a BA in Social & Global Studies from Antioch College. Marianna also served as an AmeriCorps Volunteer as part of the Learn & Serve Corps.
Marianna served as co-chair of the Junior Board of Advocates for Children, a New York City non-profit that advocates for the educational rights of disenfranchised children from 2009-2011 and Children’s Learning Center, an early childhood education center in Harlem from 2013-2015. She currently serves on the Young Partners Board of the Public Theater.
