Eileen Reyes Arias

Eileen Reyes Arias is the Director of Government and Community Affairs at El Museo del Barrio.

With over 10 years of experience in political organizing, community and government outreach, Eileen cultivates and manages relationships with community-based organizations, locally, across the five boroughs, and around the state, helping to establish new collaborations. She also works closely with elected officials and their staff on the federal, state and city levels, responsible for capital, programmatic and general operating support-funding requests and reporting.

Eileen also serves on the board of directors of Teatro Circulo, presenting the best works of Spanish and Pan Latino playwrights, both contemporary and classical, while also supporting the creation and presentation of new work by Latino artists.

Eileen has a master’s degree in international affairs from The New School University. Prior to joining El Museo, Eileen served as Special Assistant for Latino Affairs under Governors Spitzer and Paterson. Born and raised in Sunset Park Brooklyn, she now resides in South Ozone Park, Queens with her husband and daughter.
